Henry "Heinie" W. Nelson, age 89 formerly of 693 West Division Street and a resident of the Woodlands, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born April 6, 1918 in Fond du Lac the son of Christian A. and Camilla Pederson Nelson. On September 28, 1946 he married Marion Mitzelfeldt at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Heinie was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from September 1942 to 1945 serving Europe and Africa. He was a meat cutter at Buehler's for 15 years and later worked for Crouch's Sentry Foods for 30 years retiring in 1980. He was a life-long member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Heinie enjoyed woodworking and attending his army reunions.Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marion Nelson, resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, sister-in-laws, Ione Nelson, Mesa, AZ, and Terri Mitzelfeldt, Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven, five brothers and six sisters.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 2-4 P.M. at the Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church-Family Life Center, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church-Family Life Center, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac with Reverend Alan Schaffmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.Memorials appreciated to Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
