Herman D. Rucks

Herman D. Rucks, 85, a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past six weeks, died on Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born November 10, 1928, in Byron, the son of Herman A. and Marie Butz Rucks. Herman was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. After his service tour, he worked for the DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line for 10 years. He was employed by Mercury Marine for over 20 years until his retirement. As an electrician, he enjoyed building Heath Kits. He was a member of the Church of Peace. Herman is survived by nieces and nephews, namely Nancy (David) Artz of Gurnee, IL, Marie Buretta of Miramar Beach, FL, Maria Tsoukalas of New York, NY, Nicholas Tsoukalas of Las Vegas, NV, and David (Joy) Rucks of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arnold and Harold Rucks, and three sisters, Louise Danner, Ruth Rucks, and Dorothy Tsoukalas.



Visitation for Herman D. Rucks will be on Friday, January 10, 2014, from 3 to 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. James F.D. Martin will officiate with cremation to follow. Inurnment of cremated remains in Rienzi Cemetery will be held at a later date.
