Homer “Jim” J. Sharp, 93, of Fond du Lac, died November 2, 2017 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born September 9, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of James and Clara Rappatta Sharp. Jim grew up in Ashland, WI and graduated from Ashland High School. On June 5, 1954 he married Dorothy J. O’Neil in Milwaukee and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2013. Jim served in the U.S. Navy/Seabees from 1943 – 1946 at the end of World War II and later served in the Korean War. He was an upholsterer for 10 years before starting his career with Phil Orth Company in Milwaukee and retired in 1987. Jim was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, VFW Charles Fiddler Post 9469 in Milwaukee and American Legion Cudworth Post 812 in Milwaukee. He enjoyed wood carving, sketching, painting, and loved biking.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Kindt of Milwaukee and Barbara (Randy) Entringer of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Stephanie Kindt, Mark (fiancée, Carol) Entringer, Sarah (William) Atchison, and Katie (William) Seidler; four great grandchildren; his siblings, Elaine Hayden of Kentucky, and Jerry Sharp of Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Boucher of Connecticut; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and brothers, Woody Sharp, John Sharp, Charlie Sharp, and Louis Boucher.
The visitation will be held from 3:30 – 4:30 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
