Horace L. A. Reams

Horace Lee Allen Reams, 58, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Appleton Medical Center after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week. He was born on October 23, 1956 in Cape Girardeau, MO, a son of Franklin and Hazel (Williams) Reams. On May 20, 1978, he married Sherril Hale in Scott City, MO. They moved to Fond du Lac in 1987, where he was employed by the Canadian National Railway until his retirement. Horace was a 19 year veteran of the Missouri Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT).



Horace put everyone before himself. From the beginning, Horace and Sherril were best friends. His grandsons, Owen and Connor, were his world. He loved nothing more than to spend time with them. Horace enjoyed taking vacations with his family. He was a lifelong and loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.



Horace is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherril; two children, Kristi (Gary) Gray and Matt Reams; two grandchildren, Owen and Connor Gray; his mother, Hazel; brother, Steve; brother-in-law, Keith (Elaine) Hale; sister-in-law, Teresia (Wayne) Sinn; niece, Jessica (Matt) Uhrhan; and two nephews, Jonathon (Nicole) Sinn and Justin Sinn. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Franklin; and his wife’s parents, Floyd and Mary Hale.



Visitation for Horace will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will take place at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Brent Balken officiating. Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery with military honors being presented by American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75.
