From his earliest memories Hugh loved and respected the outdoors, experiencing wonders of nature, learning from the animals and birds. Teaching him in the fight for survival; the way they helped him survive as food, experiencing their cunning and determination which helped him form a basis for living his own life of responsibility and strong ethics. Replenishing nature, managing land and animal quality in some small way establishing his credibility of usefulness to himself and everyone else was his way of showing gratitude. Living off the land, harvesting his raised bed gardens with 6 ft. tall tomatoes, pumpkin patches shared with friends and family, raising free-range chickens for eggs and meat. Promoting white tail deer cultivation and culling; creating habitat for wild life by rotating crops, planting thousands of trees all by hand, cutting dead wood for the fireplace whereby the ashes are returned to the earth as mulch and nutrients for the soil. Strict ethics and common sense made him the strongest person that ever lived. Giving of himself without thought of pain; mentally, physically or financially for the cause he believed in. Planting trees in his memory would be his greatest reward. October 31, 1945, through September 14, 2013 was an era of honesty, independence, ingenuity, common sense, determination and dedication to his wife, Linda.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements.
