Imogene A. MeliusImogene A. Melius, 91, formerly of 653 W. Arndt Street, died Saturday, October 23, 2004, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 18, 1913, in Brothertown, WI, a daughter of Sidney and Bessie Fowler Welch. On June 12, 1937, she married LaVerne Melius in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1997. Mrs. Melius was a member of Church of Peace-United Church of Christ. She was formerly employed by Infant Socks and later for the Fond du Lac School system food service program. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and baking. She was proud of her Brothertown Indian Nation heritage.Surviving are two daughters, Marlene (Wayne) Rose of Fond du Lac, and Karen (Kenneth) Rupp of Goodyear, AZ, a son, Keith (Donna) Melius of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Debra Rose of Fond du Lac, Brett Rose of Gurnee, IL, Jeff (Patti) Rose of Knoxville, TN, DeeAnn Rose of Fond du Lac, Keith (Diane) Rupp of Glendale, AZ, and Jerry (Vicky) Melius of Fond du Lac, four great-grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Zachary, and Elisabeth. She is further survived by a sister, Rosemary Ziegler of Fond du Lac. Her parents, husband, and a son, Doug, a grandson, Gary Melius, three sisters, and eight brothers preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Imogene A. Melius will be on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at 2 pm at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerald Bertsch will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.
