Irene K. Goyer, 78, formerly of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at her residence in Brookfield. She was born March 8, 1927, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Mike and Pauline Coutos Kounelis. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. In 1984, she retired as a Guidance Counselor for the Waukesha School System. Prior to this, she had been a teacher for over 34 years. Mrs. Goyer was a graduate of Goodrich High School, received her Bachelor of Arts from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and her Masters of Behavioral Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Fratarcangeli of El dorado Hills, CA, and Pauline (Theodore) Piano of Jacksonsville, FL, two sons, Mike Goyer of Milwaukee, and John Goyer of Reeseville, WI, eight grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, and Ricardo Fratarcangeli, Troy Piano, Jessica Goyer, Nicole, Lindsay, and Andrew Goyer. She is further survived by two brothers, John (Barbara) Kounelis of Milwaukee, and Nick (Rita) Kounelis of Fond du Lac, and other relatives and friends. Also surviving is her pet Siamese cat, Hershey. Her parents, a brother, Alex Kounelis, and her loving companion of 25 years, James Koconis, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Irene K. Goyer will be on Saturday, April 2, 2005, from 11:15 am to 12 noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 198 N. Macy Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday at the church. The Rev. Peter Pappademetriou will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
