Irene M. Pugh

Irene M. Pugh, 81, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 08, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Oshkosh on April 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Stephan and Barbara Casper Schneider. On May 8, 1946 she married William G. Pugh at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. Soon after, they returned to Oshkosh. In 1951 they moved to Fond du Lac where she spent the rest of her life. Her greatest joy was in music, both playing and singing. She was a long time member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church, Fond du Lac and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed singing with many local bands, notably Ron Harvey, The Versatiles, Sun Rays, Sully Smith, and others. She also belonged to two singing groups, The Sweet Mysteries and The Heartbeats, who entertained at parties, festivals, nursing homes, and the Galloway House. Her other pleasures were crocheting, crafts and poetry. Irene was a stay at home mother and her family meant more to her than anything in the world. She greatly enjoyed playing cards and games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.SURVIVORS: one daughter, Nancy (Richard) Barton; three sons, Deacon Paul (Renee) Davidson, Oceanside, CA, William J. (Judi) Pugh, Fond du Lac, James Pugh, Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William G. Pugh in 1994; two sons, Christopher in 1991 and Stephen in 2006 and Stephen's wife in 2004; two sisters, Evelyn (Leo) Ruedinger, Dorothy Nelson; one brother, Sylvester (Arlene) Schneider; many nieces and nephews.



VISITATION: will be from 9-11AM on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way.
