Irene M. Thomas

Irene M. Thomas, 86, of 38 S. Boardman Street, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 16, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Michael and Katherine Miller Wagner. On July 31, 1943, she married Charles H. Thomas at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed playing cards, doing cross word puzzles, loved the Green Bay Packers, and most importantly, loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving is her husband, Charles, three sons; Richard (Carol) Thomas of Estero, FL, and John C. and William A. (Kathy) Thomas, both of Fond du Lac, two daughters, Karen M. Miller and Marcia (Tom) Basler, both of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two step-great-granddaughters. She is further survived by two sisters, Ruth Buell and Blanche Rahl, both of Fond du Lac, three sisters-in-law, Viola Simon Charlotte Wagner, and Mary Wagner, all of Fond du Lac and a brother-in-law, Richard Batchelder, also of Fond du Lac. Her parents, an infant son, three brothers, Frank, David, and Bob Wagner, four sisters, Helen James, Bernice Storke, Catherine Batchelder, and Dolores Wester preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Irene M. Thomas will be on Friday, January 2, 2009, from 9 to 11 am at St. Mary's Church, 63 E. Merrill Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday at the church. Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Thomas' name.
