Irene N. Schneider, 91, formerly of Fond du Lac and a resident of Sun Prairie for the past two years, died at her residence on Sunday, September 30, 2012. She was born in the Town of Black Wolf, Winnebago County on August 24, 1921, the daughter of Frederick H. and Lena A. Wruck Raddatz. Irene grew up in the Town of Black Wolf and was a resident of Fond du Lac since 1941 when she married Alfred J. Schneider on August 23, 1941. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1985. She was formerly employed by SNC of Oshkosh, Fred Rueping Leather Company, and Mercury Marine. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, especially polkas, baking and cooking, canning, and playing sheepshead and other card games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Irene is survived by three daughters, Jean A. (Roger) Thompson of Kissimmee, FL, Rose (Ralph) Jennings of Sun Prairie, and JoAnn (Jim) Putman of Neenah, a son, Frank (Carole) Schneider of Brownsville, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and one sister-in-law,Vivian Raddatz, of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Florian and Leonard Raddatz, two sisters, Viola Schultz and Lucille Steinert, and two brothers-in-law, Rueben Schultz and Hilbert Steinert.
Visitation for Irene N. Schneider will be on Thursday, October 4, 2012, from 4 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way. Liturgy of Christian Burial services will be on Friday at 10:30 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Town of Blackwolf, Winnebago County.
