Irma C. Lewis Bredlau, 101, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Woodlands Senior Park in Fond du Lac. She was born in Taycheedah on September 16, 1916 to Christ and Della (Ziegelbauer) Konen. On October 6, 1937, she married Royal Lewis in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in March of 1965. On August 5, 1967, she married William Bredlau in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in June of 1994.
Irma was devoted to her family and her faith. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Irma was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s – Holy Family and a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella. Together with William, she managed Book World Bookstore in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include 4 sons, Dick (Mary), Bill (Karen), Tom (Maria) and Cal (Sharon) all of Fond du Lac; 1 step-son, Paul (Jackie) Bredlau of Hudson, Fla.; 2 step-daughters, Juliann (Joel) Breitzman of Mosinee and Glenda (James) Mamerow of Red Granite; 3 daughters-in-law, Julie Lewis of Mauston, Barb Lewis of Berlin and Laurel Johnson of Verona; 43 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; special friend, Dan Immel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Irma was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents; a son, David Lewis; a step-daughter, Marlene (Vern) Pressnell; a grandson, Daniel Lewis; 3 brothers, Ervin, Delmer and Eugene; and 3 sisters, Jean Tautges, Hazel North and Bernita Rockweit.
Visitation for Irma will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church – Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the time of service. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
