Irma M. Huck, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Francis Home after a brief stay of four days. She was a longtime resident of the Village of Taycheedah, residing for the past 10 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Sam Bender. She was born on July 4, 1912 in Quinney, the daughter of John and Mary Propson Gilles. She was raised on a farm in Stockbridge and graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1929 at the age of 16. (A fact that she was always proud of) She furthered her education at Fountain City Business College in Fond du Lac. She became a stenographer and worked for several businesses prior to her marriage. On March 5, 1935 she was united in marriage to Orval Huck at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. She and Orval became the parents of five children.SURVIVORS: Irma is survived by her children, David (Doris) Huck, Peebles, Paul (Kay) Huck, Fond du Lac, Sharon (Sam) Bender, Taycheedah, Mary (Mike) Reinsch, Ripon; one son-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Roeber, Sheyboygan Falls; 15 grandchildren, Denise (Todd) Martin, David (Robin) Huck, Cindy (Steve) Ratcliff, James (Jen) Roeber, Mark Huck, Vicki (Jeff) Kuether, Mary (Brian Fox) Frieler, Kelly (David) Bauer, Christine (Steve) Walker, Tammy (Bryan) Christopherson, Susan (Timothy) Huettl, Stephanie (Tim) Krupp, Tracy (Brian) Chartier, Lisa "Lee" (Kevin Dittman) Reinsch, Craig (Shawn) Reinsch; 28 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter. She is further survived by one brother, Arthur Gilles, Northridge, CA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orval in 2001; one daughter, Janet Roeber in 2003; one sister, Hildegard Stahl; two brothers, Greg (Olydia) Gilles, Norbert (Evelyn) Gilles; brothers-in-law, Lawrence (Vera), Harold, George (Betty), Lester (Isabelle), Edward (Gen), Leo (Doris); one sister-in-law, Lucille (Darrell) Struck.
VISITATION: will be from 9 "“ 10:30 AM on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Holy Family Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.In 1996, Irma was stricken with Guillain Barre Syndrome which temporarily paralyzed her. Thanks to Dr. David Weber and Dr. Gu, she enjoyed an additional 15 years of life. Special thanks to her daughter Sharon and son-in-law, Sam for the loving care she shared in their home during the last 10 years. The family is eternally grateful.
