Ivo B. Ebertz, 91, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Liberty House. He was born March 5, 1929 in the Town of Empire, the son of William and Martina (Freund) Ebertz. Ivo graduated from New Holstein High School. Ivo served in the Navy from 1949 – 1953. He married Barbara Crippen on June 11, 1955 in Fond du Lac. Later, he married June Coyne on March 28, 1970 in Las Vegas, NV. Ivo was an office equipment installer for Western Electric for 30 years and retiring in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post #454 in Mount Calvary, The Telephone Pioneers, Eagles Club, former member of St. Patrick’s Church, and current member of Holy Family Parish. Ivo had the great honor of participating in the Honor Flight. He enjoyed golfing, traveling in the United States, bowling and playing sheepshead.
He is survived by two children, Catherine (Randy) Hefter of Brownsville and Mark Ebertz of Appleton; four grandchildren, Craig (Kerstin) Hefter, Timothy Hefter, Scott (Erin) Hefter, and Jeff Hefter; six great-grandchildren, Gavin Boeck, Benjamin Hefter, Karleigh Hefter, Jacob Hefter, Wyatt Crowell, and Seth Hefter; three brothers, Alex (Lorraine) Ebertz, Vincent (Roselyn) Ebertz and Leander (Elizabeth) Ebertz; a sister, Verena (Charles) Groeschel; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; and two brothers, Zeno (Grace) Ebertz and Norman (Virginia) Ebertz.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM following the visitation. Due to Emergency Order #1 under Executive Order #82, masks are required while in attendance. Burial will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rienzi Cemetery.
