Jack J. Bera, age 64, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, February 3, 2014. He was born on September 20, 1949 in Antigo, WI, the son of George and Mabel (Beimborn) Bera Sr. Jack was a 1968 graduate of Goodrich High School. He served in the United States Army and went to Vietnam during war. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his heroic actions on the battlefield. On August 25, 1973 he married Margie Rahmer at St. Joseph's Church in Fond du Lac. Jack worked for Soo Line, Wisconsin Central, then Canadian National Railroad for forty years retiring in 2009. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270, he loved all sports, he enjoyed gardening, he had a great sense of humor, and he could always be found fixing or tinkering with something. He was a jack of all trades. His only daughter Angela was the apple of his eye. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.SURVIVORS: his wife Margie of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Angela (Chris Gilson) Bera of Fond du Lac; brothers and sisters, Sandy (Chuck) Kilmer of Fond du Lac, Karen "Suzie" Jurgensmier of St. Cloud, George (Carol) Bera Jr of Fond du Lac, Robert (LaQuita) Bera of Fond du Lac, Lynne Upson of Saukville, WI, Barb (Dave) Binnebose of Fond du Lac, Janet Klintworth of Fond du Lac, Pam Bera, Gail (Jim) DuFrane of Sturgeon Bay, sister in law, Candy Bera of Menasha; brothers in law and sisters in law, Donald Rahmer, Jean Resop, Doris Kapellen, John Rahmer, Joseph Rahmer Jr, Rita Lackas, Pat Simon, Carol Laudolff, and Jim Rahmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Brian Bera, brother in law, George (Elsie) Rahmer, brother in law, Charles Kuslits, brother in law, Ottie (Rosemary) Schneider, brother in law, Norbert Jurgensmier, grand-niece, Kelli Roehl.
VISITATION: Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI. Visitation will also take place at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
