Jack “Zeke” Deininger, 85, of Fond du Lac, passed away on February 11, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1932, the son of the late Earl and Helen (Cain) Deininger. On July 3, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Butler in Evansville, WI.
After high school, in 1953, Jack was drafted into the United States Army, serving as a cook. Upon returning he went to school for his barber’s license in Green Bay. Most of his career was spent as a barber at Jack’s barbershop on 6th and Park in Fond du Lac, until his retirement. Jack loved Country music, sports, and spending time with his grandchildren playing cards, watching Jeopardy, or cruising in his little red truck. He will be remembered for his hilarious, artistic, homemade cards. He loved going to the casino with his relatives. He was the caregiver for his wife and daughter until their passing.
He is survived by his daughter, Jody (Tim) Holzman of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Andrew of Lincoln, NE, and Noah of Minneapolis, MN. He is further survived by his brother, Gary “Zeke” (Sue) Deininger of Evansville, WI, Tom (Barbara) Cain of Oregon, WI, and Beth “Cay” Coletti of Muskego, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2010; and his daughter, Jelaine in January of 2018.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 noon at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
