Jacob A. Schmitz, age 100, formerly of 293 McKinley Street, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at St. Francis Nursing Home where he has been residing. Jacob was born April 29,1904 in Marytown the son of Jacob and Mary Lorge Schmitz. On June 25,1927 he married Gladys Dame at St. Mary's Church, Fond du Lac. Gladys preceded him in death on April 19,2003. Jacob worked at Blue Bird Bakery and later Gerhardt "Town Talk" Bakery. After his retirement he worked for ServiceMaster for 10 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council #664. Jacob enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and needlepoint with beads.SURVIVORS: one daughter, Helen Olson, Fond du Lac, two sons, Robert (Sharon) Schmitz and Richard (Judy) Schmitz all of Fond d u Lac, sixteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by parents, wife, son-in-law, Walter Olson, two grandchildren, Mary Schmitz and Richard Olson, one great-grandson, Jonathon Ehrhardt, three brothers, Frank, Edward, and Emil, six sisters, Margaret Mueller, Katherine Olig, Lucy Schmitz, Clara Schmitz, Mary Petrie, and Alice Flentje.



VISITATION: Tuesday, January 18,2005, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. at St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel. FUNERAL: Tuesday, January 18, 2005 a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel with Reverend Victor Capriolo officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.Memorials appreciated to the St. Francis Nursing Home Employment Fund or St. Francis Nursing Home Foundation.
