Jacob “Jack” Nelson Jung Jr., a descendent of a prominent Sheboygan family, passed away on March 30, 2022 at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He was 81 and the oldest of three children born to Jacob Nelson Jung, Sr. and Doris (Zehms) Jung. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frederic Jung.
Jack graduated from Lakeland College in 1965 with a degree in education. He was first employed by a school system in Titusville, Florida where he was a teacher for the children of the astronauts and staff employed by NASA.
When Jack returned to Wisconsin, he taught in Sheboygan area schools, and was involved in sales for his father’s business, the Jacob Jung Company Interior Decorators. Jack and his wife, Pat, and their children, Elizabeth and Christopher, eventually moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where Jack remained until his death.
Jack was beloved for his inquisitive, creative mind, and kind, gentle spirit. Some of Jack’s fondest memories were family gatherings and picnics. In his youth, he enjoyed spending the summer months at Crystal Lake where he and his siblings had fun swimming, boating, water-skiing and fishing.
Jack had a gift for auto-mechanics and enjoyed tinkering under the hood of his own car. He also collected outboard motors for a hobby and took great pride in restoring them.
Private service and burial arrangements are being made by Jack’s sister, Marjorie Jung, who lives in Bristol, Connecticut. Cremation has taken place.
Services are in the care of Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Additional information and guestbook can be found at ueckerwitt.com
