James A. "Jim" Hamburgur

August 18, 1943 — April 5, 2012

James "Jim" A. Hamburgur, 68, of Waupun, died at the Hospice Home of Hope after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. He was born August 18, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of Harry V. and Olive Bell Hamburgur. He moved to Oakfield as a teenager and was a 1962 graduate of Oakfield High School. On May 9, 1964, he married the love of his life, Carol Jean Beals. Jim was formerly employed by Mercury Marine as a machinist for 43 years, retiring in 2007. He and his wife had lived in Waupun since 1991. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and trapshooting at the Van Dyne Sportsmans Club. His grandchildren were his pride and joy whom he loved going fishing and playing the Wii with. He enjoyed going south for the winter and playing cards with his family. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. Surviving are his wife, Carol Jean, two sons, Dennis of Waupun, and Mark (Peggy) Hamburgur of Rosendale, three grandchildren, Cassandra, Austin, and Samantha, and a brother, Robert (Donna) Hamburgur of Spring Hill, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Bruce, and his mother and father-in-law, James and Jeanette (Jagdfeld) Beals.



Visitation for James "Jim" A. Hamburgur will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 4 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 7 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Cremation will follow the traditional services and inurnment of cremated remains will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery.
