James A. Resop “Red Dog”, 64, died unexpectedly on May 18th at his residence in Fond du Lac. He was born the only child of James Lawrence “Larry” and Eola Resop, on September 1st, 1953.
The 1972 Horace Mann High School graduate proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps as an M.P., for four years. After returning home, he worked as a brakeman for the Soo Line Railroad. Loving his work on the tracks, Jim worked for a few companies before he retired as a Freight Train Engineer from the Canadian National Railway in 2013.
Red Dog enjoyed hanging out with his friends, being at home watching Nascar, and all WI Sports, and/or playing with his dogs, (the late) Bailey, followed by Pearl. He also loved to vacation in Las Vegas when he had the time.
Survivors include his daughter, Chandra Millay of Wausau; his son, Brad Resop of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Brandon and Cameron Resop; and step-mother, Carol (Resop) Madigan of Rosendale. He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. The family requests your patience. Please watch the Facebook page for James Resop or Chandra Lynn for further updates.
