James G. “Jim” Kuitert, 64, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Hospice Home of Hope, after living with cancer for 4 ½ years. He was born
September 1, 1950, in Fond du Lac, a son of George and Mary Alice Detweiler Kuitert. Jim was a 1968 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. On June 10, 1978, he married Nancy Woodruff Fuller at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac. He was formerly employed by Badger Liquor for 13 years. For over 25 years, Jim was employed by Holiday Automotive, and was currently Senior Vice President and Manager of Fleet and Commercial Sales. Jim was always engaged in the Fond du Lac community serving as past president and board member of Cops for Kids Foundation, a past member and past president and board member of the North Fond du Lac Optimist Club, and a member of South Hills Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, NASCAR, and the Packers. He greatly valued his relationship with his clients in the community and his friendships at Holiday Auto.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Nancy, a daughter, Kathryn “Katie” Kuitert of Fond du Lac, a son, William Jackson “BJ” (Miranda) Fuller of Gilbert, AZ, a granddaughter, Kalista Fuller and a grandson, Tiko James Kuitert. He is further survived by his mother, Mary Alice Kuitert of Fond du Lac, a sister, Rita Guyette of Fond du Lac, two brothers, Dan (Deb) Kuitert and Tom (Gail) Kuitert, both of Fond du Lac, two sisters-in-law, Wendy (Stuart) MacPherson of Pickerel, WI, and Carol (Ed) Steinbarth of Fond du Lac, and two brothers-in-law, Skip (Lynn) Woodruff and Rich (Theresa) Woodruff, both of Fond du Lac. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mike and Rita Shannon. His father, an infant brother, David, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his mother and father-in-law, W. Clark and Alma Woodruff, and a sister-in-law, Jennifer (Richard) Thornton, preceded him in death.
Visitation for James G. “Jim” Kuitert will be on Sunday, June 21, 2015, from 2:30 to 6:00 PM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. Liturgy of the Word services will be at 6:15 PM at the church on Sunday. Burial will take place on Monday at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 AM.
