James G. "Jim" Wellnitz

James George Wellnitz, (Jim to friends and family) was 50 when he passed away at his house in Oakfield on September 8, 2011.Jim was born in Fond du Lac on February 9, 1961. He was the youngest son of five children born to Robert and Betty Wellnitz.Jim enjoyed growing up on the family's dairy farm. He loved the out-of-doors, swimming, classic cars, and snowmobiling were particular favorites of his.Like his siblings, Jim was a student in the Oakfield Public Schools from elementary through high school. As an adult, he worked for many years as an employee of the railroad at Canadian National.Preceding him in death were his parental and maternal grandparents. Jim is survived by his parents, Robert and Betty Wellnitz, his sister MaryAnn and brother- in- law Armond Pahnke; his sister Leona and brother- in- law Kim Havens; his brother Robert Wellnitz Jr.; his brother Michael and sister-in-law Cindy Wellnitz.



Visitation and Services: A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 12th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sons of Zebedee, St. Johns Church in Byron, WI. Immediately following the visitation a Mass for immediate family and close friends will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Michael Petersen will officiate.
