James H. "Jim" Roach

June 24, 1942 — June 20, 2010

James H. "Jim" Roach, 67, of North Fond du Lac, went home to his Heavenly Father on June 20, 2010, surrounded by his wife, their children and their spouses, and his grandchildren. Jim fought a tough battle, but, a courageous one for almost seven years of multiple myeloma. Jim was born June 24, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the son of Howard and Jesse Wynen Roach. Jim went to grade school at Presentation School. He then attended Horace Mann High School, graduating in 1960. He entered the US Army in December of 1960 and was Honorably Discharged in December of 1963. After his military tour, Jim worked for Bell Telephone, Giddings and Lewis before the strike, and the Soo Line Railroad as a maintenance electrician. He retired from Mercury Marine in 2008. Jim was also a volunteer fire fighter and an EMS Technician for 10 years for the North Fond du Lac Fire Department. He married his high school sweetheart, Andrea Hinn, on October 30, 1964 in Fond du Lac. Together they had three children, Kevin and his wife, Jill, of Oshkosh and their children, Lauren and Blake, Kim and Ross Sales of Fond du Lac, and their children, Nicholas and Samantha, and Andy and Sarah Roach of North Fond du Lac, his buddy "Willy", his chocolate lab, and his three "grand dogs", Libby, Addy, and Julia "Jules". He is further survived by two sisters, Janet Roche of Madison, and Mary and Russ Patt of Bartlett, IL, and their children, Mike, Eric, and Brock. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Kathleen Roach.



Visitation for James H. "Jim" Roach will be on Thursday, June 24, 2010, from 4 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Friday, June 25th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Church of The Presentation, 705 Michigan Street, North Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM at the church on Friday. The Rev. John Simon will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
