James L. "Bud" Sippel

March 26, 1927 — April 12, 2011

James "Bud" L. Sippel, 84, of 234 South National Avenue, Fond du Lac, was born to eternal life Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. 2 Timothy: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. He was born March 26, 1927 in Sheboygan County, the son of Benno and Agnes Dreifuerst Sippel. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Indra. Jim married Elizabeth Beltz on November 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 1996. On February 14, 1998 he married Patricia Neuy. Jim was a wonderful and very loving husband, great father, stepfather, and a great "Papa Jim" to his grandchildren. He was a true friend to everyone who knew him. Jim had a very special bond with the men he worked with for 39 years at Wisconsin Power & Light. After retirement he loved fixing lawnmowers and working for Joel Streblow until the cancer took over. Jim always put others before himself helping everyone who needed his help. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75. He served as an usher for many years at St. Louis and St. Mary's Church. SURVIVORS: his wife, Pat; two sons, David (Cathy) Sippel, AR, Steve Sippel, Cross Plains; one daughter, Joan Sippel, Fond du Lac; five step children, James Mengert, KS, Timothy (Diane) Mengert, Fond du Lac, Merry (David) Arndt, Fond du Lac, Robert Mengert, Fond du Lac, Paul (Melissa) Mengert, Fond du Lac. He is further survived by eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Irvine, CA, Pat (Eugene) Braun, Calvary Station; one brother, Terry (Karen) Sippel, FL; one brother-in-law, Jack Bresenham, Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law, Marlene (George) Grauwels, WI, Janet (Don) Ready, WI, a long time friend, Barbara Sippel,Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; sister, Ruth Bresenham; brother-in-law, Loyd Irvine.Jim will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.



VISITATION: will be held from 2 "“ 5 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Luke Strand officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services with inurnment in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Sergi, Dr. Vander Kooy, and the staff of Agnesian Hospice Hope for the care given to Jim.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
