James “Jim” L. Krueger, Sr., 77, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, October 5, 2015 at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Kewaskum, Wis. on June 12, 1938, the 10th of 12 children to Allan and Viola (Kanter) Krueger, Sr. On October 17, 1959, he married Janet Wagner in the Town of Scott.
After 36 years of employment with Mercury Marine in Plant 15, Jim retired in 2000. He loved baseball and was a pitcher for many years in local fast-pitch leagues. In addition to baseball, he loved the Packers and enjoyed golfing. Lastly, he was a true outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, but especially Coon hunting, were lifetime passions of his. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; 3 children, Kelly (Frank) Morgan of Denver, Colo., James, Jr. (Maureen) of Ogdensburg, Wis. and Kerry Krueger of Fond du Lac; 2 granddaughters, Nichole Seidler of Eau Claire, Wis. and Jenna Krueger of Charlotte, N.C.; 2 great-grandchildren, Chace and Casey Zimmerman of Eau Claire; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and his good friend, Jim “Rosie” Rosenmeier of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Mark; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; and lifelong friend, Charles “Chuck” Eggers.
Visitation for Jim will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. There will not be a funeral service. All are welcome to join the family at Rienzi Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place at 11:00 AM with military honors presented by the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75.
