James M. Lindsley

James M. Lindsley, 78, formerly of 995 Sycamore Tree Drive, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where he had been a resident since April of 2009. He was born January 13, 1932, in Fond du Lac, the son of Orivs E. and Josephine Rieder Lindsley. On May 10, 1952, he married Audrey J. Lurvey at New Post Chapel, Fort Sill, OK, by Colonel Benjamin P. Marsgal, chaplain. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2005. Mr. Lindsley was formerly employed by Medalist Industries as a superintendent of sports clothing manufacture for 34 years, retiring in the early 1990's. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1953. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, but gardening was his first love. Surviving are two daughters, Christine (William) Makowski and Colleen (Brian) Sabel, both of Fond du Lac, a son, Mark Lindsley of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, CPT Jamie (Matthew) Jones of Sierra Vista, AZ and. Tricia Makowski of Naples, FL, Megan Sabel of Port Washington, WI and Amanda Sabel of Fond du Lac, and Katlyn and Adam Lindsley, both of Fond du Lac, a sister, Marilyn (Edward) Hackbarth of San Clemente, CA, a brother, Robert (Charline) Lindsley of Campbellsport, a brother-in-law, Dale O'Malley of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. His parents, wife, infant granddaughter, Carrie Ann Makowski, and a sister, Kathleen O'Malley, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. James M. Lindsley will be on Thursday, May 13, 2010, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Friday from 9 to 10 am at the funeral home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and entombment will be in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mr. Lindsley's name.
