James P. Matt, 73, of Hancock, Wisconsin, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born March 16, 1938, in Valley City, North Dakota, the son of Anton and Lulu Miller Matt. On July 7, 1960, he married Halcie Komrosky in Valley City. James was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1958 to 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis. He was employed as a Civil Servant at Bremerton Naval Base in Washington State and later for the US Coast Guard in Alaska. He enjoyed fishing and constructing R/C airplanes. Surviving is his wife, Halcie, of Hancock, two daughters, Sharon (Terry) Patnode of South Milwaukee and Debra Immel of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Christine (Damein) Clausen and their children, Kaylee and Ashlee of South Milwaukee, Sarah Oehm and Marissa and Travis Immel, all of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by a sister, Teresa Killoren of Buffalo, ND, and a brother, Anton Duane (Norma) Matt of Grace City, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Allen, two brothers, Lewis and George, and a sister, Elizabeth Mohr.
