James R. “Jim” White, 62, of North Fond du Lac, died unexpectedly but peacefully at St. Agnes Hospital on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was born in Fond du Lac on January 31, 1954, to Raymond “Ray” and Mary (Mitchell) White. On December 10, 1988, Jim married Lori Smith in Fond du Lac.
Just like every other grown man in Wisconsin, Jim was an avid Packer fan. Jim also had a voice that would let you know that he was in the room. People would take notice of his laughter. Jim started out working alongside his father, Ray, in the family business, White’s Petroleum. He then began a new career as a semi-truck driver, working for numerous companies. Most recently, Jim was driving for Steger Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Lori; their son, Travis of North Fond du Lac; a brother, Mike of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Sue White of Fond du Lac and Barb (Dan) Mauer of California; his mother, Mary White of Fond du Lac; his mother-in-law, Betty Smith of North Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, Mike Smith of Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Mary (Don) Belongia of Fond du Lac; and nephews, nieces and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; a sister-in-law, Laura White; and his father-in-law, Leroy “Smitty” Smith.
Visitation for Jim will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place with burial taking place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
