James R. Reed

James Rodney Reed, 69, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born August 30, 1946 in New Castle, IN, the son of J.W. and Valda Reed. He spent his youth in Sharon Springs, KS and Denver, CO. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1966 to June 1970. On April 30, 1978 he married Beverly Blomfeldt in Denver, CO. They moved to Fond du Lac to raise their family and Jim worked for Mercury Marine in the Technical Support Department as a system programmer.



Jim had many fond memories of coaching FDL Youth Baseball in the 80’s and 90’s where he made lasting relationships with his players. Jim loved hot summer weather, the 4th of July and sweets almost as much as we loved him. Jim was devoted to his family and loved them dearly.



Leaving behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly; son, Scott (Jennifer) and their son, Tanner of Denver, CO; daughter, Jamie of West Allis, WI; and son, Nathan (Shannon) of Waunakee, WI and their daughters, Scarlett and Vivian who thought their Boppa was pretty special. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in laws, Toots and Dorothy Blomfeldt of Mt. Calvary, who loved Jim like their own son.



Much of the last year was spend at the Cancer Center. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Troicki, Stacey and Mary for their thoughtful care and compassion.
