James Ray Gokey

James Ray Gokey, age 69, of 975 Whippoorwhill Lane, Fond du Lac, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on February 24, 1940 in Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond Gokey and Evelyn Lanham. On June 13, 1987 he married Faye (O'Neil) Dowidat. Jim worked for thirty-three years at Mercury Marine. He was a member of the Merc Union Retirees Club, member of Eagles Aerie 270, presently State Golf Director of the Eagles, past president of the Eagles, and did the scoring for the Eagles Golf league for many years. Jim was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, and was on the Board of Directors of Fond du Lac Blue Line Club for nine years.SURVIVORS: his wife Faye of Fond du Lac, children, Christina (Scott) Compton of St. Peter, Amy (Christopher) Shepro of Fond du Lac, Scott (Angela) Dowidat of Fond du Lac, James E. Gokey of California, Michael (Tracy) Gokey of Jackson, grandchildren, Natasha (fiancé Walter Olson) Compton, Kayla Compton, Zachary Shepro, Samuel Shepro, Johnathan Dowidat, Jakob Schowalter, McKenna Gokey, Brandon Schowalter, brothers, Terry (Sandy Naparalla) Gokey, Ricky Gokey, sisters in law, Diane O'Neil, Peggy (David) Beuthin, brother in law, Dale (Jackie) O'Neil, father and mother in law, Chuck and Milly O'Neil, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.



VISITATION: Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 3-7 P.M. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive. FUNERAL: Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Pavasic officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel-Trinity Church Building Fund or to the Hospice Home of Hope.Additional information and guestbook can be found at www.ueckerwitt.comUecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
