James T. Salter Sr.

James T. Salter Sr, age 77, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Lakeview Assisted Living surrounded by his family. He was born on April 11, 1940, in Fond du Lac, the son of Roy and Laura (Wietor) Salter. On September 12, 1959 he married Patricia A. Brustman in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2016. Jim was a machinist for many years and also farmed since childhood. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, listening to country music, gardening, and he could fix anything.



Survivors include three children, James T. (Patty) Salter Jr. of Fond du Lac, Lorianne (Todd) Klein of Fond du Lac, Jillayne (Steven) Halverson of Menasha; four grandchildren, Taylor Klein, Mikayla Klein, Evan Halverson, and Dominic Halverson; one sister, Carol (George) Stanchfield of Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Brustman of Appleton; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patricia; and one brother Robert Salter.



Visitation will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
