James W. “Jimbo” Pollock, age 82, of Evansville, WI, formerly of Oakfield, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 with his daughter Joyce and granddaughter Ashley at his side. He was born on May 21, 1934, the son of Walter and Mildred (Klebs) Pollock. Jim was a graduate of Waupun High School. He served in the United States Army from 1957-63 stationed in Germany and was a Field Artillery Crewman. Jimbo worked for many years as a farmer and then at M & M Foundry in Waupun and then as head custodian in the Oakfield School District. Jim really enjoyed interacting with the students at Oakfield High School and those relationships made him love his job. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially with his grandson and great-granddaughter. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, WI, and a member at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Rogersville, WI, where he was a former council president.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Jamie) Henke of Oakfield; one grandson, Kyle (Ashley) Henke of Oakfield; one great-granddaughter, Luci Rose Henke; one sister, Patricia Krause of Sun Prairie; special friend, Ann of Evansville, WI; his former wife, Helen Pollock of Oakfield; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert (Marilyn) Pollock.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, N5680 Towne Road, Rogersville, WI, 54974. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield, WI.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jimbo’s name.
