Jane Marie Knueppel

Jane Marie Knueppel, 58, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, November 14, 2016 after a courageous, four year battle with cancer. She was born April 15, 1958, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Audrey (Willett) Burkhardt.



Jane graduated from Goodrich High School with the class of 1976. Following high school, she attended Moraine Park Technical College, earning a degree in practical nursing. On March 21, 1981, Jane married Bill Knueppel and they had three children: Aaron, Adam, and Allison. They were later divorced. Jane returned to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in registered nursing from Marian College. She worked as a nurse at St. Agnes Hospital for many years.



Jane is survived by her three children, Aaron Knueppel of Milwaukee; Adam Knueppel of Fond du Lac; Allison Knueppel (special friend, Jai Stoffel) of Fond du Lac; special friend, Kurt Perry, of Fond du Lac; her two beautiful grandchildren, Chloe and Willow; a brother, Mike (Roxanne) Burkhardt; a sister, Mary (Mark) Leicht; sister-in-law, Sue Stoll; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and the Knueppel family. She was preceded in death by both parents, and a brother, Joe Burkhardt.



Jane was a wonderful person with an infectious laugh. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved reading, gardening, painting, making jewelry, time at the cabin, and her Springer Spaniel, Charlie.



Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac and again on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 678 Western Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery will follow.
