Jane (Zinkgraf) Genz

Jane (Zinkgraf) Genz, age 72, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at UW Health University Hospital in Madison. Jane was the 4^th of 6 children born to Oliver and Dorothy (Bostwick) Zinkgraf on April 30, 1951, in Fond du Lac. She graduated from Goodrich High School, the class of 1970. On November 6, 1971, she married James Genz at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac. The couple met shortly after Jim’s return from his tour of duty in Vietnam. It was a love that spanned over 52 years. They resided in Sheboygan for many years and after retirement, decided to move to Fond du Lac to be closer to her family. 

Jane has one daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Clamp and two grandchildren, Keegan and Camryn, all of Lutz, Florida. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and loved to talk of their many accomplishments. Family was always important to Jane and she enjoyed hosting many family gatherings. She enjoyed baking and all types of crafting which included quilting, sewing, and knitting. Her Catholic faith was important to her throughout her life.

She is further survived by five siblings, Mary Balson, Carol Burk, Mike (Jeannie) Zinkgraf, John (Tina) Zinkgraf, and Kathy Zinkgraf; brother-in-law, Tom (Emily) Genz; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Dorothy; parents-in-law, Leonard and Dolores Genz; brothers and sisters-in-law; Owen Balson, Maurice “Mike” Burk, Erna and Richard Russell, Carol and Robert Goos; and nephew, Todd Genz.

The visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM. Private family burial will occur at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler, WI. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Kidney Foundation or Holy Family Catholic Parish in Jane’s name. 

The family extends a special thank you to DaVita Kidney Dialysis Center at Aurora Fond du Lac and to the doctors and nurses at UW Health Hospital for their care, compassion, and respect given to Jane and her family.
