Janet A. Singleton

Janet A. Singleton, age 82, arrived in heaven Wednesday evening, at 6:10 P.M., May 24, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was surrounded by her family. She passed from pancreatic cancer. Janet was born on November 16, 1924 in Fond du Lac the daughter of the late Amelia and Lawrence Wilson. A sister of Beryl (Gene) Worm and Vivian (Bernard) Konen. She attended Wilson Grade School and graduated from Garfield Sr. High School. She belonged to the Apple Sisters Card Club.On July 31, 1943 she married Donald R. Singleton at St. Louis Catholic Church. The couple owned Antique Boutique, WesScott Plaza, and Singleton Square. Prior to owning these properties she worked at Taycheedah Correctional Institution as a supervisor. Janet and her husband Donald were among the original founders of the Fond du Lac Community Theatre. She took great pride for thirty years in her Antique Shop. Janet was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was very proud of her family and grandchildren.SURVIVORS: her husband, Donald of Fond du Lac, three daughters, Athlyn (Bob) Reed of Pewaukee, WI, Lynda Singleton of Milwaukee, WI, Gayle Evans of Palm Springs, CA, two sons, Gary (Gena) Singleton and Keith (Maureen) Singleton of Fond du Lac, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, some of whom carry the fourth generation Singleton name.



VISITATION: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, corner of S. Peters and Western Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church with the Reverend Victor Capriolo officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
