Janet F. Russell

Janet F. Russell, age 86, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, November 4, 2022, at Maple Meadows in Fond du Lac. She was born on November 15, 1935, in Ripon, WI, a daughter of Carl and Madeline (Perschbacher) Weis. On September 25, 1954, she married Keith Lowell Russell in Fond du Lac. She was a 1953 graduate of Oakfield High School. Mrs. Russell resided in New Jersey and Michigan while her husband was in the Air Force until 1955. After moving back to Fond du Lac her husband worked for Wisconsin Bell and she was a secretary for various companies, A.C. Nielsen, Combined Insurance, and her last job at the Fond du Lac County Treasurer’s Office. From 1959-1966 they dairy farmed in Berlin and Waupun.

Janet retired in 1989, traveling with her husband throughout the United States. She was very active in her church in previous years, especially singing, playing piano, and teaching Sunday school. Mrs. Russell was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Casa Grande, AZ, where they resided in winter.

Survivors include two brothers, Rev. James Weis and Carlton (Joy) Weis; sister-in-law, Mary Weis; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers.

Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at Rosendale Cemetery on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
