Janet K. Vanderlip, 61, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa surrounded by her family. She was born April 15, 1954 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Donald Herman and Evelyn Esther (Aeschlimann) Babler. On August 25, 1973 she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dean R. Vanderlip in Janesville. Janet graduated from Janesville Parker High School in 1972, received her Bachelor’s in Education in 1990 from UW Oshkosh, and her Master’s Degree from Marion College in 2000. She taught elementary education at Smith Elementary School in Oshkosh until her retirement in December of 2010. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Janet most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her four grandchildren gave her pride and joy and they will greatly miss their Oma. She also loved to travel, taking motorcycle and other trips to both coasts. Spending time outdoors gardening was something you could see her do. When indoors she enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Vanderlip; her daughter, Deena (Jack) Nett of Thiensville; her son, Russell Vanderlip of Cedarburg; four grandchildren, Ramsey, Liam, Max, and Sophia Nett. She is further survived by two brothers, Steve (Lori) Babler of Iron River, MI and Matthew (Annette) Babler of Janesville; her mother-in-law, Lorraine Vanderlip of Janesville; two brothers-in-law, Randy (Cecelia) Vanderlip of Janesville and David (Candice) Vanderlip of Milton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Lee Vanderlip.
The visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church, 120 Sheboygan Street, Fond du Lac. The memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Beaton officiating. Cremation has taken place.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Hamadani, Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Thompson, the bone marrow transplant team, and the MICU staff at Froedtert Hospital for their great effort.
