Janet Marie Hinkley

January 19, 1944 — March 20, 2016

Janet Marie (George) Norris Hinkley, age 72, was greeted by the angels in heaven on Sunday March 20, 2016. She was born on January 19, 1944 in Oshkosh, the daughter of James and Dolores (Ebersberger) George. On February 10, 1989, she married her best friend, Howard Hinkley.

Janet was employed as office manager at MW Tighe Roofing for over thirty years. She was not only a dedicated employee, but also a special friend to all of her co-workers.

Janet is survived by her husband; Howard, her sons; Joseph Norris of Cable, Tony (Tracy) Norris and their sons; Jimmy and Jacob of Fond du Lac, step children, Jason Hinkley (Aimee Crook) of Venice Beach, CA and Heather Hinkley (Kristen Bargender) of DesMoines, IA. Additional survivors include sisters and brothers; Marianne (Harvey) Schmidt of Maple Grove, MN, Ginny (Louis) Birschbach of Armstrong, James (Kathi) George of Armstrong, David (Susan) George of Fond du Lac and Karen (Elliot) Friedman of West Lafayette, IN and sisters-in-law Donna (Tom) Bucher of Phelps, Bonnie Rymer of Allowez and Janice Liesse of Green Bay. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-¬law, Howard and Theresa Hinkley.

Janet endured medical issues throughout her life and she met each one with grace and dignity. She was truly an inspiration. We will always remember her saying, “It’s fine, perfectly fine.”

Being a kidney recipient 16 years ago, Janet has chosen to pay it forward by donating her body to UW Madison. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend our sincere thank you to the staff on the Fifth Floor South at St. Agnes Hospital, Harbor Haven Rehab Facility, the Cancer Center and Agnesian Hospice for their compassionate care.
