Jean G. Romalia

Jean G. Romalia, 108, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Francis Home. She was born December 3, 1908 in Marblehead, the daughter of Bortolo and Desolina Faccaro Bartoli. On June 24, 1934 she married August J. Romalia and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1996. Jean and her husband owned and operated Romalia Grocery in Marblehead for over 50 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Jean enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and traveling.



She is survived by her son, Robert (Mary Ann) Romalia of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Bart Romalia and Brad (Debra) Romalia; one great granddaughter, Grace; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, August; two brothers, Victor Bartoli and Frank Bartoli and a sister, Catherine Brazzale.



The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the St. Francis Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
