Jean M. Unger nee Brenner, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. She was the second daughter born to Benno and Adelaide (Abler) Brenner. Jean was born on June 7, 1937. At age 22 Jean and several friends ventured to California. She was employed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority for more than 30 years. She met her husband Richard and married in 1969. Upon her retirement in 1994 they moved to Cave Creek, Arizona. While in Arizona she enjoyed golfing, hiking, and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. She moved back to the Fond du Lac area in 2010. Jean was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Jean is survived by her brother, Benno Brenner Jr. his wife, Joan and their family, Tim, Patrick (Savita), Kelly (Dave) Zangl, and Kristin (Jeff) Bertram; nephew and niece, Tom Fricke and Cindy Tingle of Brooklyn Center, MN. She is further survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard and his parents; sister, Shirley Fricke and husband Harlen; and infant sister, Mary Clare.
Per Jean’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 22, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Private family burial will follow the mass.
