Jerome J. Sandbeck

Jerome J. "Big Jer" Sandbeck, age 74, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, October 11, 2013 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born on November 16, 1938 in Omro, the son of Ottar and Ruby (Stowe) Sandbeck. He married Elaine J. Oppermann on June 10, 1994 in Fond du Lac. Jerome worked at Mercury Marine for over thirty-five years. He was a member of A.I.M. Lodge 1947. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, playing sheesphead at the Fond du Lac Senior Center and North Fond du Lac Senior Center, gardening, fishing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.SURVIVORS: his wife Elaine of Fond du Lac; two sons, Rick (Gail) Sandbeck of Oshkosh, Jeff (Angel) Covey of Nekoosa, WI; one daughter, Renee Jacob of Oshkosh; two step-sons, Randy (Renee) Oppermann of Oshkosh, Mark (Diane) Oppermann of Augusta, WI; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Pat Buck of Omro, Nona Erickson of Omro, Norlene (Richard) Paine of Oshkosh, Geraldine (Rich) Hammer of Houston, TX; brothers in law and sisters in law, Donald (Mary) Belongia of Fond du Lac, Wayne (Cheri) Belongia of Fond du Lac, Karen Westphal of Fond du Lac; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter, Elysabeth Oppermann.



VISITATION: Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. There will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to Dr. Udlis and the doctors and nursing staff at Agnesian Hospice for their care and concern shown to Jerome and his family.
