Jerome L. Keenan, age 89, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1925 in Fond du Lac, the son of James F. and Lenora Marie (Gross) Keenan Sr. Jerome was a farmer in his youth. He joined the United States Army on December 3, 1953 to December 2, 1955 as part of the 51st R. Cat Div, R.C. stationed in Fort Bliss, TX. He then worked at G & L and then at Friday Canning Company until retiring at age sixty-two. Jerome enjoyed local politics and always enjoyed a good argument and a good beer. He enjoyed deer hunting immensely and also enjoyed gardening.
SURVIVORS: three sisters, Rosemary Fortunato of Fond du Lac, Elaine (Raymond) Bauer of Fond du Lac, Patricia Hornes of Sheboygan; special nephew, Joseph Fortunato of Mt. Calvary; and many other nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Keenan, his brother James F. Keenan Jr. and his wife Kay, his brother Robert T. Keenan and his wife Shirley, his sister Madelyn Wendels and her husband John; brother in law, Robert Hornes, brother in law, Joseph Fortunato.
VISITATION: Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 232 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside honors.
