Jerry J. Johnson, age 72, of North Fond du Lac, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1943 in Fond du Lac, the son of William W.H. and Elinor A. (Hrabik) Johnson. Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Goodrich High School. He served in the United States Army from 1964-66 stationed in France. He attended MATC receiving a certificate in auto body repair. Jerry opened the Body Shop at Holiday Automotive and worked as the Body Shop Manager until retiring in 2008. He was a former member of the North Fond du Lac Optimists Club, WI Street Rod Association, WI Auto Body Association, and North Fond du Lac Funrunners. He was an avid bowler, and loved snowmobiling, boating, fishing, hunting, cars, and most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities no matter where in the state they were.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Karen of North Fond du Lac; two children, Joel (Brenda) Johnson of Van Dyne, Jodi (Jeff) Guenther of Shawano; grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Autumn, and Kyle Johnson, and Kylie and Luke Guenther, special family member, Matthew; one sister, Janice (Tom) Slater of Eden; brothers in law, Kenneth M. (Kathy) Krueger of Fond du Lac, Keith (Shirley) Krueger of Woodhull, and Karl (Mary) Krueger of Fond du Lac; and his beloved dog, China; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; Joel James Johnson Jr; mother in law and father in law Milton and Odilia Krueger; and his dog Chucka.
VISITATION: Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Presentation Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac, WI, 54937. Visitation will be held on Monday at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
