Joan I. Guell

Joan I. Guell, 80, of rural Oakfield, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 23, 1940 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Edward and Cordelia (Lefeber) Franzen. Joan graduated from Goodrich High School in 1959. Joan was in a loving partnership with David Klosterman for over 30 years. She worked at the Fond du Lac County Healthcare Center until her retirement. Joan had a love for animals especially her beloved cat, Smokey. She enjoyed the outdoors, rummage sales, and thrift stores. She was a loving, devoted mother and always cared for others before herself. Her family was her greatest joy.



She is survived by her partner, David Klosterman; three daughters, Deb (Rob) Giese, Dawn (Dan Levesque) Schaefer, and Mary (Cliff) Shelton; eight grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Giese, Parker, Paige, and Paul Schaefer, Elizabeth, Emily, and Nicholas Shelton; her brother, Harvey (Judy) Franzen; sister-in-law, Sharon Franzen; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Debbie Mish and Denise Denslow. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Franzen.



At Joan’s request there will be no visitation or services, cremation has taken place.
