Joan M. Cruciani, 88, of N4547 Cty Road V, Eden, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Mary Cruciani. She was born December 20, 1920, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Andrew and Clara Beyer Sanders. On March 30, 1942, she married Nicholas Cruciani at St. Joseph's Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1999. Joan was a member of Shepherd of The Hills Parish of Eden. She was a 1939 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. Her favorite things to do were to bake cookies at Christmas, and clean all the time. Her strong faith guided her through six bouts with cancer and 17 surgeries.Surviving are two daughters, Jean (Dick) Flitter of North Fond du Lac, and Mary Cruciani of Fond du Lac, a son, James (Mary) Cruciani of Dubuque, Iowa, seven grandchildren, Beth (Special Friend James Allen) Theda, Lynn Sabel, Bill (Christine) Flitter, Anna (Kevin) Barnes-Baumbach, Nick (Donna) Cruciani, Tony (Shia) Cruciani, and Kim (Special Friend Zach Wirth) Cruciani, and eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Troy Sabel, Jack and Audrey Flitter, Vance Dube, Jackson Cruciani, Drew Cruciani, and Colson Cruciani. She is further survived by a sister, Lois Letourneau, of Fond du Lac, and two sisters-in-law, Josephine Coon and Jeanne Cruciani, both of Fond du Lac. Her parents, husband, and two sisters, Carol Hein and Kathryn Boehrig preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Joan M. Cruciani will be on Monday, December 21, 2009, from 10 am to 1 pm at Shepherd of The Hills Parish, W1562 Cty Road B, Eden. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 1 pm at the church on Monday. The Rev. Joseph Juknialis will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary' s Cemetery in Eden. The family requests that memorials be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope or Shepherd of The Hills Parish.
