Joan S. Metzler

Joan S. Metzler, age 73, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Scottdale, PA, the daughter of John W. and Lois M. (Sultzer) Stoker. On October 28, 1961 she married Jay Metzler in Scottdale, PA. Joan was a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She worked as a nurse for over fifty years, including St. Agnes Hospital and Columbia-St. Mary's in Milwaukee where she retired eight years ago as Director of Behavioral Medicine.She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Jay Metzler of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Jennifer (Mark Allison) Metzler of Albuquerque, NM; one son, Jeff (Melissa) Metzler of Minneapolis, MN; one grandchild, Lily Anne Metzler; one sister, Susan Maguire of Evanston, IL; and Mark's sons, Levin and Jack Allison, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.



VISITATION: Friday, February 7, 2014 from 1:30-3:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Friday, February 7, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
