Joanne M. Ahrens

Joanne M. Ahrens, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born July 31, 1928 in Mt. Calvary, the daughter of Walter and Irma (Lueck) Schiefelbein. On November 9, 1973 she married Robert J. Ahrens at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Joanne worked in sterile processing at St. Agnes Hospital until her retirement in 1990. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, bingo, sewing, Red Hat Honeys, church, music, ice cream, and her beloved pets. She was dedicated to her family.



She is survived by her husband, Robert; six children, David (Diane) Czoschke, Diane Bloedorn, Dona (Robert) McEssey, Michael (Susan) Walters, Kaye (Ronnie) Flegner, and Julie (Kevin) Raymond; eight grandchildren, Dan (Suzie) Czoschke, Randy (Deann) Czoschke, Chad McEssey, Jeryl McEssey, Janelle (Tony) Albertz, Brad Czoschke, Melissa Freund, and Michelle (George) Fechhelm; eleven great grandchildren; one step daughter, Debbie (Toby) Afinson; five step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; one brother, Roland Schiefelbein; one sister, Marion Flood; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Chris Czoschke; one step-son, Dennis Ahrens; two grandchildren, Schawna Jones and Peter Jones; and two sons-in-law, Bob Jones and Craig Bloedorn.



The visitation will be held 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main Street in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Entombment will be held in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.



In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joanne’s name are appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope or Fond du Lac Senior Center.
