Joe C. Robles Sr., age 83, of 463 E. 2nd. St, Fond du Lac, died Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1925 in Langtry, Texas, the son of Eulogio and Cristina (Hernandez) Robles. On December 12, 1952 he married Mary L. Lehn in Chicago. He lived in Del Rio, TX from 1926 to 1943 until moving to Chicago, upon retirement in 1990, he and Mary moved to Fond du Lac. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific, and was a recipient of two Bronze Stars for bravery. He worked as a carman for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1988. While living in Fond du Lac, Joe was a crossing guard for over fifteen years at the intersection of Pioneer Road and Martin Avenue. Joe enjoyed boating with his son in law Jerry. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary of Fond du Lac, eight children, Arthur Kutz and his wife Patricia of Mayville, Melinda and husband Bernard Bohlman of Sheboygan Falls, Anita and JerryAshmus of Fond du Lac, Jose Cruz Robles Jr. of Oakland, CA, Catherine and Robert Smith of Temecula, CA, Laura Robles of Fond du Lac, Anton Robles of Chicago, Susan Robles of Chicago, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Alexander, and two brothers, three half-brothers, two half-sisters.



VISITATION: Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Friday, February 27, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Deacon Ricardo Munoz officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service. Cremation has taken place and internment of cremains will follow the service at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
