John A. Bevan

John A. Bevan, 65, of Rosendale, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on September 4, 1940 the son of Jack S. and Mildred A. Columbus Bevan in Gulfport, MS. He was a member of Church of The Presentation, North Fond du Lac. On June 27, 2003 John married Bonnie A. Schwenn in Fond du Lac. John served for the United States Navy from October 1957 to January 1961 and reenlisted in November 1962 and served on the U.S.S Oklahoma. He received a Vietnam Service Medal, a National Defense service Medal and a Purple Heart while serving his country. John was a truck driver for 30 years. During his 30 year career he was injured and thought he would never truck again, he furthered his education receiving a degree in industrial engineering and was very proud and used this degree well until returning to the open road. John retired from T.T.I. in April of 2006.SURVIVORS; his loving wife, Bonnie; 3 children, Christine (Scott) Parent, North Fond du Lac, John Jr. II (Tammy Abel) Bevan, Nicholas (friend Julie) Bevan, all of Fond du Lac; 3 step-children, Teresa Schwenn, Fond du Lac, Stephanie Schwenn, Rosendale, Steven Schwenn, Fond du Lac; 7 grandchildren; Jason (Miranda) Harlan, Amanda Harlan, Michael "Mikey" O'Malley, John A. Bevan III "Trey", Acacia, Tate, and Peyton Bevan, 1 great-grandchild, Bailey Harlan. He is further survived by his mother, Columbus, OH; 3 brothers, Steve (Pat) Bevan, George (Linda) Bevan, all of Columbus, OH, Michael (Jan) Bevan, San Diego, CA; one sister, Robin (Richard) Rabhold, Columbus, OH; his former wife, Marie Roloff, Van Dyne. He was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.



VISITATION: will be from 9-11AM on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the church with Rev. Dennis Budka officiating. Burial will be held in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery with Tier Puddy Post #75 conducting military rites.Memorials are appreciated to the Central Wisconsin Cancer Center or St. Agnes Hospice Home of Hope.A special thank you to the Central Wisconsin Cancer Center, all of the staff that cared for John and our family from St. Agnes Hospice Hope, Sister Francis of Assissi and Holy Family Parish.Uecker "“ Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
