John A. Comerford

John "Jack" A. Comerford, 77, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born August 31, 1932 in Stockbridge, the son of Perry J. and Mary M. O'Donnell Comerford. Jack served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corp from 1952 "“1956 as a Hospital Corpsman during the Korean Conflict. On June 22, 1957 he married Donna J. Gerhartz at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stockbridge. Jack lived in Sheboygan County for many years until moving to Fond du Lac in 1996. He received his CRNA degree from Mercy Hospital and his Bachelors Degree in Business from Lakeland College. Jack worked for 38 years as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. He was born, raised and retired on the shores of Lake Winnebago, which he enjoyed very much. Jack had a great sense of humor and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. SURVIVORS: his wife, Donna; five children, Julie (Lance) O'Reilly, Milwaukee, Sarah (Peter) Zwiefelhofer, Whitefish Bay, Elizabeth Comerford, Laguna Beach, CA, John (Peggy) Comerford, Madison, Mark (Dawn) Comerford, Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Neill and Shannon O'Reilly, Jack and Lewis Zwiefelhofer, Will Comerford, Cody, Clay and Nicole Comerford; two sisters, Kay (Russ) Samec, Morton Grove, IL, Jane (Michael) Belongie, Beaver Dam; one brother, Gordon (Alice) Comerford, Chicago, IL; one sister-in-law, Vera Comerford, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Gene and a brother, Thomas.



VISITATION: will be from 2 "“ 4:30 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Coerber officiating. Jack was devoted to the nursing profession and the family would like to thank the nurses who took care of him throughout the years.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fond du Lac Food Pantry or a charity of your choice.
