John D. Colward

John D. Colward, age 84 of 593 Western Avenue, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital.He was born in Fond du Lac on May 17, 1923 the son of Edwin and Herminia Seidler Colward. On June 4, 1949 he married LaVerne Boy in Fond du Lac. LaVerne preceded him in death on October 5, 1997. John was a veteran of U.S. Army serving in World War II, and received the Purple Heart. He was employed with the City of Fond du Lac for 20 years working as a street sweeper. He was a life-long member of the Church of Peace, U.C.C., Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270, and the Disabled American Veterans. John enjoyed fishing and hunting.He is survived by his three daughters, Renee (Bill) Zettler, Linda (Michael) "Mich" Perry, and Tammy Colward, all of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Kevin, Katie, Bryan Zettler, and Heather Perry. John is further survived by a brother Royal (Bernice) Colward, Fond du Lac, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Joan Edwards and one brother Harold Colward.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home from 4-6 P.M. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Chuck Fluegel officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. The Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 will conduct military services at the mausoleum.UECKER-WITT FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
